Police seek information in shooting homicide of 31-year-old man in Los Banos

Los Banos police are continuing to work a homicide investigation after a man was found Thursday morning with gunshot wounds in the area of East B and 8th streets, according to authorities.

According to Los Banos Police Cmdr. Jason Hedden, officers responed to a shots fired call at 6:41 a.m. and located Raymundo Rubio Salcido of Los Banos unresponsive in the roadway on East B Street near 8th Street.

Responding officers attempted CPR until paramedics arrived, but Salcido was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said it is believed Salcido was the driver of a white sedan found at the scene.

According to Hedden, detectives are working to piece together details of what led up to the shooting.

“We’re continuing to talk to witnesses and we’re asking anyone else who may have information to come forward,” Hedden said.

Police haven’t released a possible motive or information on a possible suspect.
