Los Banos police arrest man carrying AR-15 under his jacket. He faces other charges

A 51-year old Los Banos man was arrested after he was spotted carrying a shotgun concealed in his jacket on Friday morning, police said.

Officers responded to the call of a man carrying a shotgun and located Daniel Fuentes carrying an AR-15 assault rifle in the 1300 block of Falcon Street near Meadowlark Avenue.

Fuentes is a convicted felon who is prohibited from having a firearm, police said. Officers searched Fuentes’ home where a second stolen AR-15 was found. Fuentes has also been charged in the theft of two other firearms.

Fuentes was booked into the Merced County Jail and faces charges of a felon in possession of a firearm and four counts of grand theft firearm. His bail is set at $100,000, according to jail records.
