Atwater police identify homicide victim found at Osborne Park
A homicide victim who was found July 31 at the back of Atwater’s Osborne Park has been identified as Bobby Hendricks, 48, according to Detective-Sgt. David Brum of the Atwater Police Department.
Police say Hendricks was transient in the city. Detectives are working several leads and have identified possible suspects, but no arrests have been made, Brum said.
No details have been released about Hendricks’ injuries, and the circumstances behind his death remain under investigation.
Police responded at about 6:45 a.m. Friday to a call of an unresponsive male near an irrigation canal at the back of the park in the 400 block of East Bellevue Road.
Hendricks was found near a homeless encampment and declared dead at the scene.
