Chowchilla police investigating fatal shooting

Chowchilla police are investigating a fatal shooting of a man reported Sunday evening.

Around 6:30 p.m. police were dispatched to Ash slough for a possible shooting victim and active shooter, according to the department’s Facebook page.

Upon their arrival, officers were met by several adults, and had located the victim of a single gunshot wound to the upper body.

Officers attempted life saving procedures until paramedics arrived on scene, but the victim died from his wounds.
