Chowchilla police identify Keyes man as suspect in shooting homicide near Ash Slough

The Chowchilla Police Department has identified Gustavo Leon Castillo, 38, as a suspect in the fatal Sept. 6 shooting in the Ash Slough area.

Officers arrived on scene and located a male subject with a single gunshot wound who was later pronounced dead. According to Madera County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sarah Jackson, the victim was identified as 30-year-old Alberto Franco-Felix of Dos Palos.

Police said Castillo, who resides in the City of Keyes, is believed to have fled the scene shortly after.

According to police, Castillo is considered to be armed and dangerous.
