Suspect sought in shooting of 43-year-old man at Livingston residence
Authorities are investigating a shooting in Livingston that sent a man to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds Sunday night.
According to Livingston Police Chief Chris Soria, officers responded to the 2300 block of Johannisburg Drive at about 8:27 p.m. for a report of shots fired. While en route to the location, authorities received another call from a woman that stated her husband had been shot.
Officers arrived on scene and located the 43-year-old man in a garage with gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body, according to police.
Soria said the victim was flown to an out-of-area trauma center for treatment of his injuries. Police have not received an update on the man’s condition but Soria said his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
It appears the suspect walked up from a dark area and starting shooting at the man from the driveway before entering the garage where the suspect continued shooting, according to Soria.
Police canvassed the area but did not locate a suspect. Police said they do not have a suspect description at this time.
Soria said investigators located shell casings at the scene believed to be from a handgun. At least one vehicle at the scene may have been hit by gunshots.
Investigators are continuing to canvass the area as well as looking for any witnesses or anyone who may have audio or video recordings from devices such as Ring doorbell cameras in the area, according to Soria.
Soria said a clear motive for the shooting is not known at this time, but police believe it may have been gang related.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Jason Barkus by calling the Livingston Police Department at 209-394-7916.
