Two suspects arrested after drugs, load firearm found in vehicle in Merced, police say

A check on a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of two suspects for weapons and drug charges Friday in Merced, according to police.

An officer approached a suspect vehicle on the 2500 block of North Highway 59 on Friday.

The driver was Jody Potter, 32, and the passenger was Baby Moreno, 43. Moreno had a warrant for his arrest and was in possession of methamphetamine, according to a social media post by the Merced Police Department.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded firearm.

Potter was arrested for weapons violations while Moreno was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and the outstanding warrant.
