Merced police on Tuesday released information about two additional suspect in a recent home invasion over marijuana that killed a woman and injured a man.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Travis Lavell Rucks, 20, and Jeremiah Marquis Macias Lacy, 24, both of Vallejo. They are wanted in the Oct. 30 shooting in the 100 block of East Main Street that killed Christina Velez, 33.

Police arrested one suspect in the case, Emari Lee Prescott, 22, after he had checked into Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock with a bullet wound to his leg.

Meanwhile, more details from the shooting are starting emerge about what happened the night of the shooting.

Police arrived at the house after Velez’s partner called for help after shots were fired during the home invasion.

When police arrived, Velez’s partner was trying to administer first aid to her, and the first officers to arrive immediately rendered first aid to the father, who survived.

According to the police report, an exchange of gunfire ensued between the invaders and the father of Velez’s partner, who also lived in the house. The father of Velez’s partner was armed with a .40-caliber handgun. He was shot in the leg and was treated at a regional trauma center, according to the police report.

Police have previously said the shooting at the residence was an attempted robbery of marijuana that was being kept at the house. Police collected multiple suitcases and bags full of marijuana as evidence in the case. Plus, Prescott’s shirt and his sweatshirt were allegedly found.

Police also found a cell phone belonging to either Prescott or Rucks. One officer wrote in their report that they viewed video surveillance footage that showed three people running up to the house with guns in their hands.

Merced police, following up on a lead that both Prescott and Rucks live in Vallejo, contacted officers at the Vallejo Police Department. Vallejo police told Merced officers that Prescott is currently on probation stemming from a case in Sacramento County and probation out of another case in Alameda County, as well.

Prescott remains in jail on two counts of attempted murder, killing of a human being with malice a forethought, assault with a firearm, robbery in the first degree, shooting at an inhabited dwelling and possession of a firearm.
