Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Merced restaurant.

At about 9:14 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at Five Star Burgers located at 1725 Yosemite Parkway, according to a Merced Police Department news release.

Witnesses told investigators a person approached a window at the business where food is ordered and then reportedly demanded money while displaying a handgun. Police said witnesses described the person as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a mask.

After obtaining cash from the employee, the person then fled from the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.
