Police say they’re investigating reported robbery at gas station in central Merced
Authorities are investigating after a robbery was reported at a 76 gas station in Merced Wednesday night.
At about 11:38 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred inside Zoomy’s at the 76 gas station located at 3006 G St., according to a Merced Police Department news release.
Police said the clerk reported that a young male had stood near the doors to the business and demanded money while claiming to have a gun. When the clerk opened the register, the person reportedly took $20 and fled the scene on a bicycle riding east on East Alexander Avenue.
According to police, the person was described as a male standing about 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt which had a football helmet logo.
