Merced police investigate shooting that left man injured, with multiple gunshot wounds
Police are investigating after a shooting in south Merced left one man injured on Tuesday.
Police received numerous reports of shots fired with one person struck by gunfire on West 12th Street between H and G Streets, according to a Merced Police Department news release.
At about 10:13 p.m., officers responded to the call and arrived on scene where they located a 32-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. According to police, witnesses reported at least one shooter arrived on a bike and fled the scene toward G Street. The man was taken to a regional medical facility for treatment of his injuries and is in stable condition, authorities said.
According to Lt. Joey Perez, police have not identified a motive for the shooting and no suspects have been identified or arrested. Police said the victim has not been cooperative.
