Police are investigating a shooting that wounded two people outside a Merced home late Monday night, according to authorities.

At about 10:47 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of K Street, across the railroad tracks from the Amtrak station, for a report of two gunshot victims, according to Merced Police Lt. Joseph Perez.

Perez said the victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, evidence of a shooting was found at the scene and officers are working to locate any possible video surveillance from the area. Perez said a possible motive for the shooting remains unclear and no suspects have been identified or arrested.
