Man shot and killed at Merced apartment complex identified by coroner

The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office has identified a man shot and killed at a Merced apartment complex on Friday as 41-year-old Ruben Galindo, according to Deputy Alexandra Britton.

Police responded to the Grove Apartments in the 300 block of South Parsons Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. for a report of a man with a gunshot wound. According to authorities, officers located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound and lifesaving measures were attempted but Galindo died at the scene.
