Dos Palos police seek sexual assault suspect

Dos Palos police are asking for help from the public in tracking down a suspected sex offender.

According to authorities, Antonio Mendoza Sr., 71, is suspected of committing crimes over the past several decades.

Police said that after a juvenile victim reported a sexual assault involving Mendoza, investigating officers learned of several other victims.

“We are concerned about the activity of Mendoza and we are concerned the activity may be still occurring,” authorities said in a news release. “We suspect there are other victims who still fear this man. Please come forward.”

A warrant has been issued for Mendoza’s arrest. Police said in the news release investigators believe he is on the run.
