Two home invasion suspects were shot by deputies early Thursday morning in Merced County.

Deputies responded to a home in the 3800 block of Washington Street in Le Grand at 2:12 a.m. for a report of a home invasion involving several armed suspects.

When deputies approached the home, the suspects allegedly shot at them. Deputies returned fire, striking two. The suspects went back inside the residence before surrendering without further incident, deputies said.

The third suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Merced County Sheriff’s Office jail.

The first two suspects were taken to a local hospital, and their conditions are unknown.

No deputies were injured in the shootout.
