Los Banos man stopped by gang unit, arrested for alleged firearm violations
A 39-year-old Los Banos man was arrested on multiple felony firearm violations after he was found with a loaded gun during a traffic stop Wednesday night.
The Los Banos Police Department Gang Unit stopped Jose Alvarez, who was driving on the 1300 of East Pacheco Boulevard shortly after 8 p.m., police said in a Facebook post.
Alvarez, a felon, is prohibited from possessing guns and ammunition, police said.
On Thursday, the Gang Unit and the Investigations Division executed a residential search warrant related to the investigation, and officers found more evidence linking Alvarez to the gun, police said.
Alvarez was booked and remains in the Los Banos Police Department Jail on $350,000 bail.
