Dog ejected in rollover crash in Merced County, but is unharmed. Driver arrested

A dog was unharmed despite being ejected from a vehicle during a rollover crash in Merced County on Thanksgiving night, the California Highway Patrol said in a Facebook post.

The dog’s owner was arrested for driving under the influence, the CHP said.

The crash occurred on southbound Highway 99 just north of Hammatt Avenue, the CHP said. The CHP was called to the scene at 10:55 p.m.

The dog’s small puppy remained inside the vehicle after the two-vehicle crash. Neither the dog nor its puppy were injured, the CHP said.

Neither the impaired driver nor anyone in the other vehicle was injured, the CHP said.
