Los Banos man arrested after police find loaded homemade gun, drugs

A probation compliance check led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Los Banos man for numerous felony drug and weapon-related charges Wednesday, according to the Los Banos Police Department.

Anthony Alarcon was with found with a loaded homemade pistol, live ammunition and suspected methamphetamine, police said in a Facebook post.

The Los Banos Police Department Gang Unit was on patrol in the 1100 Block of G Street when it attempted to contact the suspect shortly before 3 p.m.

When Alarcon saw the officers, he attempted to get away, but he was quickly detained, the post said.

He was placed under arrest and booked into the Merced County Jail, the post said.
