Merced police ask for public’s help to find suspect in fatal shooting
The Merced Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find a fugitive wanted in connection with a 2023 fatal shooting.
Eruvey Deoro Muzquiz, 30, is the suspect and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, Merced police said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
Muzquiz, who was 27 at the time, was named as a suspect in the July 2023 shooting death of 47-year-old Damien Wheaton. The shooting happened in the 1200 block of R Street, police said.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted to law enforcement through the Merced Area Crime Stoppers website. Financial rewards may be available for information leading to an arrest.
