Delhi man, a middle school track coach, arrested for child sex abuse material

Breaking news

A 21-year-old Delhi man who has been coaching track and field at Livingston Middle School has been arrested for possessing child sexual abuse material, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

Daniel Lucatero-Bucio, a student at CSU Stanislaus, was taken into custody on Friday, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

In March, Merced County Sheriff’s deputies, in cooperation with the Fresno Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, began following up on a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Lucatero-Bucio was identified as the suspect, the post said.

Detectives arrested Lucatero-Bucio at the CSU Stanislaus campus in Turlock, and he was booked into the Merced County Jail.

There is no current evidence showing that any of the children he coached at Livingston Middle School were victims, the post said.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation can contact the Merced County Detectives Bureau at 209-385-7472. Callers may remain confidential.
