A man has been arrested on multiple arson-related charges in connection with three fires in Dos Palos, police said.

On April 7, Dos Palos police and Cal Fire responded to a fire that had spread to a business on the 1400 block of Center Avenue in Dos Palos.

The fire caused temporary power outages and damaged fiber-optic lines, causing more than $1,000 in damage, according to a Dos Palos Police Department Facebook post.

On April 8, authorities responded to a fire near Blossom Street and Carol Avenue, where shopping carts, miscellaneous debris and a power pole were intentionally set on fire.

After an investigation, Jose Uber Ramirez-Gonzaga was identified as a suspect in both cases.

On Tuesday, authorities responded to a fire near Elgin Avenue and Eucalyptus Road. Ramirez-Gonzaga was contacted and detained in the area.

He was booked into the Merced County Jail.
