A 22-year-old Los Banos man wanted on a felony warrant for burglary was apprehended Wednesday, according to the Los Banos Police Department.

The Los Banos police gang unit was patrolling the area of Third and H streets when offiers spotted David Medina.

Upon seeing police, Medina fled on a bicycle. As he left, he threw a loaded gun into the front yard of a residence on the 300 block of G Street, police said in a Facebook post.

Medina eventually stopped and was taken into custody, the post said. Officers later located the firearm.

Medina, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition, the post said. He was booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail on multiple felony weapons charges and for the burglary arrest warrant. Medina remains in custody with a bail set at $265,000, police said.
