Three arrested after teenager is stabbed at Merced County Fair, sheriff says

The Merced County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people allegedly involved in a stabbing that critically injured a teenager Sunday night at the Merced County Fair.

Deputies working the fair were called to the carnival area at around 10:10 p.m. after reports of a fight, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post on Monday.

When deputies arrived, they found a 15-year-old victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, the post said. The teen was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition.

The Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested three suspects in the stabbing: Nathaniel Yanez, 26, and two juveniles.

The stabbing is believed to be an isolated incident, the post said, but the investigation remains ongoing.

Video of the alleged incident has been circulated on social media.
