Livingston police make arrest in fatal shooting that happened in April

Livingston police on Wednesday arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in April.

Andrew Madrigal Jr. was arrested at the Merced County Jail on an arrest warrant for murder issued by the Livingston Police Department, according to a police Facebook post.

On April 19 at about 12:45 p.m., officers from the Livingston Police Department were called to the scene of a shooting in the 2100 block of Alameda Court. When officers arrived, they found a person who had been shot several times.

Live-saving efforts were attempted, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Besides the murder charge, Madrigal faces gun charges, an accessory after the fact charge, and a charge of participating in a criminal street gang. He was booked into Merced County Jail on Wednesday morning.

The April 19 killing came one week after a fatal shooting outside an apartment complex on the 1100 block of Olive Avenue.
