Atwater gang member shot in foot, police say
A suspected gang member suffered a gunshot wound to his right foot Sunday in Atwater, the Police Department reported.
The 24-year-old victim, who was described by a police as a known gang member, was shot once around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Muir Avenue and East Bellevue Road, Lt. Samuel Joseph told the Sun-Star.
Investigators believe the incident may be gang related.
Officers said injury was not life threatening.
At least two men were possibly involved in the attack, one of whom may have been wearing some type of mask, police said.
No arrests have been made.
