Merced SWAT Team makes arrest in Sacramento homicide
A homicide suspect from Sacramento was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Merced, the Merced Police Department confirmed.
Members of the Merced Police SWAT Team, Merced County Gang Narcotics Task Force and Sacramento police served a warrant around 3 p.m. at a home in the 2100 block of Bennington Court in Merced, Lt. Chris Goodwin confirmed.
A man wanted in connection with a homicide in Sacramento was arrested, Goodwin said, but he declined to comment further. He referred questions to the Sacramento Police Department.
“I can say their detectives conducted surveillance in the area (Tuesday) morning and we were able to assist them with the arrest in the afternoon,” Goodwin said.
Investigators declined to release the suspect’s name.
A Sacramento police spokesman said he could not immediately comment on the case.
