Shots fired in Denver Avenue area, Merced police say

Merced police responded to calls about several shots being fired about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Denver Avenue, according to a press release.

While checking the area, officers found bullet casings in the street near the 3200 block of Denver Avenue. Also, officers were told that a bullet had struck an apartment building on Denver Avenue. Officers found the apartment and confirmed no one was hurt.

Near Madison Court, officers also found a bike with a bullet hole in the rim, police said. No injuries from gunfire were reported.
