Shooting injures three in Winton
Three people are expected to survive after being shot Saturday night in Winton, according to Merced County Sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies believe the crime is gang-related, and no suspects are in custody.
The shooting was reported around 9 p.m. in the 7100 block of Bobbie Avenue in Winton. Deputies arrived at the scene and found two 18-year-old females and a 19-year-old male with bullet wounds, according to Deputy Delray Shelton.
The victims were taken to a Modesto hospital for treatment. Deputies learned the victims had been shot while standing in a driveway.
While a suspect description is not available, deputies say the suspect vehicle is a small white van with a gray stripe across the bottom.
It’s unknown whether the Winton shooting is related to a Merced shooting reported around 10 p.m. Saturday that also injured three people.
