A suspect in a series of burglaries in Livingston was arrested this week, the Police Department reported.

Dylan Blaine, 21, is accused of breaking into at least three homes and is a suspect in at least three more, Sgt. John Ramirez said Friday.

“Two of those burglaries happened early in the morning, around 4 or 5 a.m., when the residents were sleeping. Those are the really scary ones,” Ramirez noted.

Blaine is also accused of breaking into several vehicles in recent weeks, according to police.

Investigators believe Blaine broke into a home on Sept. 20 on Zinfandel Drive and, the following day, burglarized homes in the 2200 block of Johannisburg Drive and the 2400 block of Burgundy Drive.

He’s also a suspect in a Sept. 15 burglary on Peach Avenue and another on the same day on Sun Valley Avenue, as well as an Aug. 15 break-in on Chardonnay Way, police said.

Blaine was arrested Thursday in the 900 block of Olds Avenue after a short foot chase. He was found hiding in a trailer, police said.

He posted bail and was arrested a few hours later, according to booking records.

Police Chief Ruben Chavez said officers have seen a small spike in burglaries in recent weeks. He said he hopes the arrest helps curb the break-ins.
