Merced man arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure
Merced police arrested a man Saturday they said was exposing himself to passers-by near the shopping center at 16th and G streets.
Around 9 a.m. Saturday, Merced police received reports that a man was standing outside the Subway restaurant near the intersection exposing himself.
Officers said they arrested James Barnes, 59, after they found him sitting on the curb with his pants pulled down to his knees. Police said Barnes had his legs open and was exposing himself.
Barnes was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure. He is being held in the Main Jail in lieu of $5,500 bail.
