Police say Merced woman found safe
A Merced woman who had been reported missing this week has been found safe and uninjured, police said Friday.
Deanna Brummell had been reported missing early Tuesday after her co-workers discovered her car in their workplace parking lot and her keys lying on the ground nearby, but they could find no sign of the 42-year-old woman.
The Merced Police Department said in a statement Friday that Brummell “had been located and is safe, uninjured and resting at an undisclosed location.” No further information about the case was released.
Police earlier had confirmed that Brummell is the mother of Brittany Dutra, 21, who was stabbed to death in her Merced apartment in July. Dutra was the mother of 3-year-old twin girls. Later that month, 34-year-old Oscar Saenz was charged with murder in the case.
