2 Merced teens arrested with stolen firearm, police say
Two teenage suspected gang members from Merced have been arrested after police found a stolen handgun after a brief foot chase, the Merced Police Department reported.
Officers responded about 4 p.m. Friday to the 900 block of Buena Vista Drive after receiving a report of a person with gun. Officers attempted to stop a teenager, who ran from the police and was captured a short time later.
Two youths, ages 15 and 13, were arrested and booked into the Merced County Juvenile Justice Complex on suspicion of weapons and gang allegations.
Officers found a 9 mm handgun that had been reported stolen, police said.
