Police said the victim was traveling west on Fruitland Avenue around 6 a.m. when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up next to him and someone from inside opened fire. He was shot once as he drove away. The vehicle was struck multiple times.

Officers found the victim at a gas station in the 2700 block of Winton Way, police said.

Investigators are reviewing security-camera footage taken in the area, Joseph said.

Police said it was too early in the investigation to comment on any possible motive.
