Atwater man stole mail, deputies say

An Atwater man was arrested Tuesday in Merced after stealing mail, according to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to a home in the 3300 block of East South Bear Creek Drive after a resident reported two men on bicycles stealing mail.

Deputies said they found Kleim Moua, 30, and another man near East 27th Street and Story Avenue. Moua had a methamphetamine pipe and loaded handgun in his possession, deputies said.

The other man with Moua was released, deputies said.

Moua was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor possession of the methamphetamine pipe and a felony possession of a loaded firearm not registered to him.

He posted bail and was no longer in custody Thursday, according to jail records.
