Police search for suspects in Livingston shooting; no one injured

Livingston police are seeking the public’s help identifying the people responsible for firing gunshots over the weekend in a residential neighborhood.

No one was injured when the shots were fired around 9 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Linden Court, police Lt. Chris Soria said.

“People heard the shots and called us, but the officers were unable to locate any witnesses or damage at first,” Soria said.

Officers returned to the scene about an hour later after residents discovered an unoccupied vehicle had been struck at least once. Police found shell casings in the area. Officers declined to comment on the number of casings found or the caliber.

Soria said it was fortunate no one was injured, but noted police are concerned anytime shots are fired in the city. The motive for the shooting remained unclear Monday.

Anyone with information should call the Livingston Police Department at (209) 394-7916. Tips are confidential and callers may remain anonymous.
