Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Merced

A 26-year-old Atwater man was arrested Thursday during a traffic stop on K Street in Merced after gang investigators found burglary tools and methamphetamine, the Police Department reported.

Franky D. Pilcher was booked into the John Latorraca Correctional Center on suspicion of drug and possession of burglary tools, as well as a warrant charging him with a parole violation, according to booking records.

He remained in custody Friday without bail.

Pilcher was a passenger in a vehicle stopped Thursday afternoon in the 2100 block of K Street by the Merced Police Gang Violence Suppression Unit, police said in a brief news release.
