Merced police seek help identifying man sought in robbery
Merced police on Monday asked for the public’s help with identifying a man suspected of robbing a person at gunpoint last month.
Police investigators released a photograph of the man they believe was responsible in the incident, which was reported Dec. 30 at a Bank of America ATM on West Main Street in Merced.
“During the robbery, a camera captured the suspect’s photo and the Police Department is hoping that someone will recognize the suspect and call the Police Department with his name,” Capt. Tom Trindad said in a news release.
Police did not comment on many details of the robbery, including the amount of money taken. There were no injuries during the incident, Detective Joseph Deliman confirmed.
The photograph released Monday shows a man with black hair wearing a black jacket, white shirt, brown pants and black shoes. Police did not release a full description of the man Monday.
Police are asking anyone with any information regarding this incident to contact Deliman at (209) 385-6992, or the Merced Police Department Tipster Line at (209) 385-4725. The public can send information via anonymous text messages to police department by dialing “TIP411” (847411) and including the word “ComVIP” as the “keyword” in the text message.
