Officers responded around 11:42 p.m. to a report of gunshots in the 1100 block of Swaps Street, Lt. Samuel Joseph told the Sun-Star.

Several shotgun rounds were fired into the wall of an apartment.

“Victims inside the residence heard several rounds fired, and the window to the residence was shattered,” Joseph said.

No injuries were reported. Investigators have not commented on any motive for the shooting, including whether the attack may have been gang-related, police said.

No arrests have been made, and no suspect descriptions have been released.

Atwater police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact investigators at 209-357-6396. Tips are confidential and callers can remain anonymous.
