Delhi house fire ‘suspicious,’ firefighters say
A “suspicious fire” raced through a Delhi home Wednesday, causing thousands of dollars in damage, Cal Fire reported.
Flames broke out around 10:30 a.m. at a home on Corner Street near August Avenue. Nearly a dozen firefighters responded, Battalion Chief Baraka Carter said.
There were no injuries.
Firefighters said the home was occupied, but the power had been shut off. Carter said the cause of the fire remained under investigation Wednesday afternoon. He said it was too early to elaborate on details of what may have caused the fire.
“They’re still interviewing neighbors in the area and looking for information,” Carter said.
Carter said the house was a “total loss,” and put early damage estimates at between $75,000 and $80,000.
