Merced gang investigators seized 77 marijuana plants from a home on Creekside Drive, the Police Department reported.

Manuel J. Duran Jr., 38, was arrested on suspicion of marijuana cultivation and committing a felony while out on bail, Merced police said in a news release.

Details of the prior allegations against Duran were not available.

He was no longer in custody Tuesday.

The Merced police Gang Violence Suppression Unit officers received information that Duran had narcotics at his Creekside home, investigators said.

Officers obtained a search warrant for Duran’s residence and, during the search Saturday, found 77 marijuana plants in the home’s backyard, police said.

City gang investigators are asking for any information from the public regarding Duran. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Brian Rodriguez at 209 385-4710 or the department tip line at 209 385-4725. Tips are confidential and callers may remain anonymous.
