Man robbed at knifepoint in Atwater

Atwater police are looking for a man who robbed another man at knifepoint over the weekend, the Police Department reported.

Police say a Latino man in his 50s approached a victim around 8:35 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Ash Street. He placed a knife with a blue handle to the victim’s neck and demanded money, Lt. Samuel Joseph said.

The thief took about $400 in cash, threw the knife down and ran away, investigators said.

Police said the victim had recently cashed a paycheck.

The victim was not injured, police said.
