Los Banos police seek information on $40,000 home vandalism
Los Banos Police are looking for leads associated with a vandalism that resulted in $40,000 of damage at a house on the 600 block of Cinnamon Teal Court last month, acting Chief Ray Reyna said.
Reyna said the property owner was in the process of selling the house, which was unoccupied for several days, when he was alerted by a neighbor about vandalism that occurred on May 11.
Reyna said the property owner came to the house and noticed water damage and spray paint graffiti all over the walls.
“It’s a lot of damage at this point,” Reyna said Wednesday. “It’s in excess of $40,000.”
Reyna said some of the graffiti in the home looks similar to graffiti done on other homes in the neighborhood.
“We’ve received some tips, but not anything other than some opinions about who did it,” Reyna said. “We’re still working on the case. There is no one in custody at this time.”
Reyna urges anyone with information to call the police department at 209-827-7070.
According to a flier about the incident, there is a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
The flier states that the vandals flooded the home, and the water damage to the carpets, bedrooms, kitchen cabinets and more areas of the home isn’t covered by insurance “due to unforeseen exclusion clauses.”
The flier suggests the act was done by a male and female gang member.
Anyone can call or text a confidential tip line set up at 209-349-1000.
