Whether your child is wrapping up kindergarten or preparing to graduate high school, summer break is almost here for many students across Merced County.
As campuses throughout the Merced area are preparing to close out the 2025-26 academic year, the last day of school can vary by district.
To help families plan ahead, the Merced Sun-Star looked into when classes officially end for students in Merced County and surrounding areas.

When is the last day of school in Merced County?
The Merced County Office of Education oversees 20 public school districts, serving students from transitional kindergarten through 12th grade.
Here’s when students in each district are expected to begin summer break:
- Atwater Elementary School District — Friday, June 5
- Ballico-Cressey Elementary School District — Wednesday, June 3
- Delhi Unified School District — Friday, May 29
- Dos Palos Oro Loma Joint Unified School District — Thursday, June 4
- El Nido Elementary School District — Friday, June 5
- Gustine Unified School District — Friday, June 5
- Hilmar Unified School District — Thursday, June 4
- Le Grand Union Elementary School District — Friday, June 5
- Le Grand Union High School District — Friday, May 29
- Livingston Union Elementary School District — Wednesday, June 3
- Los Banos Unified School District — Thursday, June 4, for students in junior high and high school. Friday, June 5, for elementary school students.
