UC Merced to open campus to all this weekend
This weekend may be prime time to walk the halls of UC Merced during Preview Day, when the school annually invites prospective students and their families for tours.
UC Merced expects hundreds of high school and community college students and their families from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the 5200 N. Lake Road campus, according to a news release.
“Our goal is to give those students considering UC Merced an opportunity to get a feel for the campus,” said Juan Villegas, associate director of admissions and outreach.

associate director of admissions and outreachOpen to anyone interested in learning more about UC Merced, the day gives visitors the chance to learn about majors and meet staff and faculty members in the university’s three schools – engineering; natural sciences; and social sciences, humanities and arts. Visitors can also get help with applications and financial aid.
The filing period for the fall semester for any University of California campus is Nov. 1 through 30. Prospective students can begin the application process online and save the application to submit next month.
Registration at Preview Day and campus tours begin at 9 a.m.
