UC Merced opens up for all visitors
Bobcat Day at UC Merced is Saturday, when university officials invite prospective students, their families and anyone else interested in the campus to stop by for a visit.
Registration will open at 9 a.m. Saturday, and events will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students are encouraged to register online in advance.
Bobcat Day is also an opportunity for students who’ve earned admission to UC’s newest campus to to visit the school and talk with faculty and staff members and students.
“We set aside this day each year to help admitted first-year and transfer students get answers to questions about majors, research opportunities, housing, dining, financial aid and scholarships, student activities, athletics and more,” said Juan Villegas, associate director for recruitment and relations with schools and colleges.
Booths will line the Carol Tomlinson-Keasey Quad, the large grassy area outside of the library. The campus cafe, market, dining center and other shops are open at least part of the day.
This is your chance to explore the university and learn about the academic and student-life opportunities we offer.
