Instagram

A man in Glassell Park, California, was caught on video spitting at two people during a confrontation.

Tyler Stinson posted a video on Instagram on Sunday of a man spitting at him and his friend Josylin Acosta.

Stinson told McClatchy News that he saw a woman screaming at a family, including two children, about their off-leash dog. Stinson said he and Acosta intervened and the woman who was screaming said that the other family’s dog had attacked theirs. . During the confrontation, that woman’s husband pulled out what appeared to be a pocket knife and spat on Stinson and Acosta three times, Stinson said.

“They spat on us because we were the only ones that said anything in the situation,” Stinson said.

Acosta also posted the video on Instagram, writing in the caption: “I said something to her and told her she shouldn’t be yelling at kids. She continued to call me uneducated and her husband got defensive and threatened me and spit on me 3 times.”

“It really shows how much they really don’t care about what’s happening and about what everyone’s going through,” Acosta told CBS Los Angeles.

He and Acosta told CBS Los Angeles that they were “appalled” that the incident occurred during the coronavirus pandemic because they were spat on, potentially causing “serious illness.”

Stinson said he filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department.

McClatchy News has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for comment.
