A 28-year-old died after she was thrown from a moving Lamborghini, and now there’s an arrest in the case, Georgia officials said.

On Oct. 11, the Atlanta Police Department said it responded to an intersection and found a woman lying unconscious in the road. She was taken to a hospital and later died.

After an initial investigation, police said the woman — identified as Catherine Khan — may have fallen or been pushed from a Lamborghini Huracan.

A caller who spoke to a 911 dispatcher reported seeing someone get tossed out of the luxury car after a fight. Khan was found near Peachtree Road Northeast and Piedmont Road Northeast, in the upscale Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, according to an incident report.

On a Facebook group dedicated to Khan, some social media users posted photos of a memorial that appeared in the area as they paid tribute to her.

“I just want to thank everyone for the kind words, memories and pictures of my sweet baby girl,” wrote a social media user that said she was Khan’s mom. “It is such a comfort knowing how much she was loved. Catherine lived hard, played hard and unfortunately died hard. She’s not here anymore but she’s everywhere at the same time.”

On Monday, officials announced 31-year-old Alfred Megbuluba was arrested in the case. Police in a news release didn’t list an attorney for Megbuluba, who reportedly turned himself in at the Fulton County jail.

He is facing charges of “felony murder, theft by taking, financial transaction card fraud and financial transaction card theft,” according to police. In Georgia, a person can be charged with felony murder if officials say someone died while a crime was being committed or attempted, according to the Lawson & Berry website.

Though police in a news release didn’t say whether Megbuluba is accused of pushing Khan from the car, officials consider the case closed.
