McDonald’s celebrates ‘Shamrock SZN’ with return of iconic shake. When you can get it
McDonald’s famous minty, green milkshake is making a comeback — but only for a limited time.
The fan favorites Shamrock Shake and OREO Shamrock McFlurry will return to menus at participating restaurants nationwide starting Feb. 21, the fast food chain announced in a news release.
”Shamrock SZN brings the pop of green we’re all craving heading into spring,” it said.
This year, McDonald’s is spilling details on what gives the famous shake its unique green color. The “secret” lies in hex code number CBF2AC, according to the restaurant.
“The only thing more refreshing than the delicious taste of a Shamrock Shake is the way that minty green hue makes the ‘will-winter-ever-end’ blues go away,” the release reads. “In our 50+ years of serving up this tasty treat, we’ve never given away the secret ingredient that makes ~Shamrock Shake green~ so iconic. Until now...”
Fans of the Shamrock Shake can enjoy a cup of creamy, vanilla soft serve ice cream blended with Shamrock Shake flavor and topped with whipped cream.
The OREO Shamrock McFlurry is reminiscent of a mint chocolate chip dessert featuring vanilla soft serve, Shamrock Shake flavoring and OREO cookie pieces.
