A car was swept off the roads in Death Valley after the park was hit by flash floods, officials said in a Facebook post.

In a photo shared by Death Valley National Park officials, the car is partially submerged in mud and debris. Park officials wrote that people should exercise extreme caution when driving through the area. If visitors see flowing water or debris, officials said, they should “turn around, don’t drown.”

Park officials said in the Aug. 1 Facebook post that most roads in the park have been affected by flash floods and that road closures and conditions can change quickly.

Roads at Mojave National Preserve, southwest of Death Valley, are closed as the park deals with the impact of the floods, 8 News Now reported. Officials said the damage appears to be limited to roads, the outlet reported.

Flash floods have also hit parts of western Nevada and northern Arizona, the Associated Press reported.
