A 29-year-old man drowned in the Lake of the Ozarks over Labor Day weekend, authorities say.

Tyler Elliott, of Louisville, Kentucky, was on a pontoon boat before he decided to head into the water, according to a drowning incident report from Missouri State Highway Patrol.

He was “reportedly impaired and had diminished swimming capabilities” when he went under and drowned, officials said.

State troopers were called to the lake at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, according to the report. Elliott was later found dead at the scene.

Lake of the Ozarks is in central Missouri.
